How to select the right ERP system and ERP software vendor

How to select the right ERP system and ERP software vendor

Sourcing for a new ERP system is not an easy job. It is a long-term investment which often has a major impact on your organization.
Did you know that more than 50% (!) of the ERP implementations fail? Make sure this does not happen to you!

We’ll give you some tips to choose the right ERP package:

  • Make a clear list with the minimum requirements, needs and wishes that the ERP system must meet. Therefore involve all departments of your company in selecting the ERP package. This will gain support within your organization.
  • Check with other companies working in the same industry which ERP system they use. Maybe they are willing to show it to you.
  • We advise you to invite up to 3 ERP software vendors for a demonstration. With a greater number there is a chance that you lose track and it becomes harder to make a good settlement.
  • Ask the ERP software company for several references. And ask these companies what the software is like on a daily basis.
  • Invite the software vendor 2 up to 4 times for a demonstration. Prepare as many questions as possible in advance. Also ask questions regarding how to deal with incorrect entries and corrections.
  • After the first demonstration: describe and prepare a number of cases which you encounter in your daily work. Deliver it in advance and ask the ERP software to demonstrate the software again on the basis of these cases.
  • Look closely at the distinctive character of the software. What advantages does the software offer your company? What will it bring you?
  • Very important: the usability of the software. Are you getting the idea that you could get straight to work with it?
  • Ask lots of questions about the implementation process. This will prevent costly surprises and that there is still an IT Consultant around your office after 2 years. Also look at the training opportunities and the daily support to the software.
  • Opted for an ERP package? Assign per department a key user during deployment. This person will collect all the user requirements and the department specific needs. Further he or she will get to know the new system and act as a point of contact and help for his or her colleagues. It will fasten the implementation process and gain and secure widespread support within your organization.

Spotlight: Improved Mixing & Production Module!

Our mixing and production module has been improved!

Do you add together several purchased products in order to produce another product? Is the traceability of the raw materials of interest? If so, then this Qbil-Trade module is of great value to you. You can mix a commodity with 10 other commodities and these 10 again with 10 others. You can always go back to the source with just a few clicks.

In the production screen multiple source lots are being converted to one or more new result lots. Your stock mutations are always amended correctly (including the calculation of the new value for the new result lots), and for production (own or others) a neat production command sheet is being generated in Qbil-Trade, which of course can be emailed or printed. Besides using lots for production additional information can also be given to the production order such as bagging, blending, sieving, homogenizing, grinding, bulking, cutting and more.

The costs for production are also specified here, which may also have an effect on the value of the lot. These costs run as expected purchase invoices the Qbil-Trade procurement process.

To do for the user administrator:
1. Log out the user from Qbil Trade®
2. Deactivate the user account

And ask your system administrator to deactivate the email address.

Generic user accounts

In the case of the use of generic user accounts (eg logistics@qbil.nl or finance@qbil.nl) we advise you to do the following.

2. Change the password for the user account
