Frequently Asked Questions:

Below you will find the most frequently asked questions. Is your question not listed? Please contact our support department.

Why did you renew the order screen right now?

All our screens are rebuilt with some frequency. In this way, the user benefits from the latest technologies and we can build the software as user-friendly as possible. The order screen has been scheduled to be updated for a while, and we’ve been working on making this possible for over a year now. We are currently stuck on the flexibility of the current screen. That is why it has been decided to tackle this screen now.

Have you already tested everything extensively? Why do we now get two separate screens and not just the new screen as you do with other screens?

We see the order screen as the most important screen within our software. Here everything comes together, but from this screen the user can also go in all kinds of directions (think of it as the roundabout at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris). In the meantime, we work with both automated testing and manual testing. Yet it is impossible to check all functionalities in detail. And sometimes it happens that we overlook the most logical thing. That is why we are extra careful with this update and ask the user, especially in the beginning, to look critically at the output of the system.

Certain fields that I used to have I no longer see in the new order screen!

That’s annoying! Report this to us immediately, so that we can see what the problem is and we have the opportunity to repair it. In the meantime, the old order screen can be used to make sure you don’t get stuck.

In the current order screen, no two users can work in the same order at the same time. How does that work if one user in the new and one user in the old order screen is working in the same order?

We have thought of this, of course. The security remains the same! No two users can work on one order at the same time, regardless of the version of the order screen in which the users are working.

To navigate through Qbil Trade, I often use the click-through options from the various screens. For example, by clicking through to a specific request from a contract. Will I be redirected to the new or old version from now on?

For the time being, you will still end up in the old call-up screen. During Phase 2 we will convert these internal links. We will of course wait until all possible problems have disappeared from the new order screen.

In the new order screen I see different information than in the old order screen!

In principle, this cannot happen. Both screens use the exact same database. So there is no distinction between the two screens in the data that is displayed. If this does occur, please inform us as soon as possible!

Documents that I create via the new order screen look different than in the old order screen!

The layout of documents and their structure have not been altered. This has remained the same as the old situation. However, it could happen that an error has crept into the translation between screen and document. Please notify us immediately so that we can resolve this. In the meantime, the old order screen can be used to make sure you don’t get stuck.

The new order screen

Over the past few months we have been very busy rebuilding our order screen completely. And we can finally say that the screen is ready to show it to you, the user!

For a daily Qbil-Trade user, the differences may not seem that big at first, but a lot has changed in the back-end. In this way we can better tailor this screen to the wishes of our users in the future, but it will also become easier to further optimize this screen and make the user experience even better!

We also refer to the order screen as the ‘heart’ of our software. We have therefore tested the new screen very intensively and carefully. We want the transition to take place in phases so that you, our customers, are inconvenienced as little as possible by this transition.

What will the transition to the new order screen look like?

Phase 1: Test environment

Period: from today

The new screen will be installed on your test environment (companyname.test.qbiltrade.com, formerly the acceptance environment). As before, this environment can be freely tested and the new and the old order screen can be compared here.

Phase 2: Production Environment

Period: From October 25

Two weeks after the installation on the test environment, the new order screen will also be installed on the production environment. The old order screen also remains available. Both screens use the same database.

However, it is possible that certain things do not work or are not shown on the new order screen, but on the old order screen. We would like to hear about this so that we can solve this quickly!

Phase 3: Phasing out

Period: from January 2022

The old order screen is turned off and the new order screen is fully put into use. During this last phase, we will proceed with caution. As soon as we notice that users are using the new version more and more and we have the idea that the new order screen is fully satisfactory and has passed the test, the old order screen will be phased out.

From 2 January we will start phasing out the old order screen. We will do this per customer. And the relevant key-users will receive an email from us when this is about to happen.

Silos & Logistical layout

From now (December 8 2021) all users who work with silos and/or logistical layout can also start using the new order screen. In the unlikely event that certain things do not work or are not shown on the new order screen, please let us know so that we can solve this quickly!

It goes without saying that our customers who work with silos / logistics layout get more time to get used to and to test the new order screen. They are the last in line with regard to the phasing out of the old order screen.
